That's right, the price of gasonline has gone... DOWN!

A few days ago, the price of one liter went down from about 0.96 Saudi Riyals to about 0.62 Saudi Riyals.

"So what?", you might be thinking...
1 Gallon = 3.78 Liters
1 Dollar = 3.72 Riyals
So after doing the math, the average Gallon in America is at about 3 Dollars, thus making the average Gallon in Saudi, at about 62 cents. THAT'S PHAT!

While the rest of the world is suffering SOARING gas prices, we are experiencing DROPPING gas prices. Check out this chart of general prices per gallon around the world. The chart has three fields: Country, City and Price (in U.S. Dollars).

Ha, I will tell my mother (visiting us from the Netherlands)that Holland tops the chart! She's been complaining for years and years. She'll say, it's only the government that's raking in those profits.
So as an American living (working/studying?) in Saudi, how are you adjusting? I lived in al-Khobar for a few years in the early ninetees myself.

As for your comment, Ingrid, thanks for dropping by. Living in Saudi Arabia is definitely DIFFERENT. But in a good way, it's safe, calm and general more conservative than Miami, my hometown.

To add to the benefits, Gas is CHEAPER, heh. Stick around, and bring your Auntie by, maybe she'll learn something.

    Peace..

Hey, Abu Miftah, are you as fed up as I am of the people criticizing the king because of this move? From the medieval king jokes to the cheap bread/happy peasants rhetoric..

UGH.. why must people be so cynical? Oh well, I am guilty of this as well, so I best shut my mouth.

Anyway, mabrook to all you men folk out there. We women folk don't really care, to be honest :-D

Well Farah, to tell you the truth, I don't know what the whiners want. When the price is high, they complain. Now that it is lower, they complain...

It's not that they want an actual solution to whatever problems they have, they don't want absolute monarchy, they want absolute anarchy.

I personally am VERY happy for the drop in prices, being a student, and a pretty poor one at that, I am more than welcoming to the new price cuts.

Back to the loser who only complain:
أو كلما طن الذباب زجرته .:. إن الذباب عليّ إذا لكريم

    Enjoy..
